The new and pricey Oil drain plug washers!

I avoid going to the repair shop as much as I could, cause I can fix my own car if it's just a simple issue. Needed some genuine OEM oil drain plug washers, Part # 90430-12031, but a ridiculous thing happened. The counter guy brought me black washers, when it was supposed to be blue! They were coated with rubber just like the blue ones, but it looked off. The service manager also didn't know about it and called the other manager about it.

I didn't buy the washers, they ask for $2 for A WASHER! They said it's the new one.

Yeah, believe it or not, they replaced the blue one when there was nothing wrong with it. I know that parts prices have gone up to crazy highs, but $2 for a washer? Come on!

that's ridiculous! I've dealt with similar situations where I've gone in for something simple and ended up with the wrong parts or overpriced items, it's annoying when the counter guys don't even know the difference. you see that $2 for a washer, that's insane! you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere

Huh. That's too much lol. It's too small for that price. Anyway, you should check out aftermarket only if you're comfortable with it because you specifically wrote here you want a "genuine OEM: one and it's a bit redundant but maybe that's your way to emphasize. Call the dealership directly if you really need one. They should have the blue.

it's the material, the blue ones are aluminum mostly, and the black are copper in most cases.

@MoriartyBuddy I'd get the black ones. They're one time use, but it's a softer material, so it will have a better seal, but you'll need to replace it on your next oil change
