my 2022 Rav 4 shifts like a dream at 80k miles and im scared a dealers drain and fill might mess it up. i just ditched my 2020 Camry XSE for peanuts because its transmission was trash. anyone done a drain and fill and ended up with wonky shifts?

If you're scared a dealer would mess things up, then you can try on your own. But are you confident enough? Drain & fill is something I like to do myself too. You can shoot me a DM. I'll assist you when you're about to do it. Wonky shifts never happened for me.

a proper drain and fill at the right mileage usually helps more than hurts, but it has to be done right, with the right fluid and temp checks. Still, yeah... horror stories exist lol, maybe talk to a trusted shop first before letting a dealer touch it.

I took both of my Toyotas to the dealer for drain and fill and I haven't had any issues with the transmission at all, so maybe your camry had some other problems that led to the transmission going bad
