My New RAV '24

i went to my dealer today and put down $2,000 for a 2024 Rav4 hybrid XSE. its magnetic grey and loaded with the advanced tech package no.4. it will be here in 2-3 weeks. the car has some extras i did not want, like blackout emblems, mud guards and roof racks. They are port-installed options (PIO) and it cant be taken off, according to the manager. They come with the car no choice. then the salesman and manager pushed three add-ons: appearance protection (ceramic wax and interior guard), pladtech (tracking and diagnostics), and pro shield (not sure what it is). They wanted $3,100 for them. I said no because it is oo pricey. They dropped the price but i still said no. after more back and forth i got them down to $1,100. Maybe i should not have but i said yes. can't wait for my new Rav4 hybrid!

got one and also loaded but i skipped the add ons. the port installed options like mud guards and roof racks are stuck on there same as yours. 1100 bucks is not bad for those extras if you end up liking them.

Ugh, dealers can be so frustrating with their pushy add ons. Honestly, I would've walked out when they started trying to sell me all that unnecessary junk, especially at that price. Ceramic wax, tracking, and whatever "pro shield" is, they're just overpriced add ons that you could easily get elsewhere for way cheaper, well at least you got them to drop the price, but still, that's $1,100 you didn't need to spend, please learn to keep an eye out for dealer tactics

Hahaha, the haggling is where the fun is. $1.1K is not that bad like @NightRogue_87 here mentioned, but it's still something you could live without (yes I agree @ComproMiser). It's probably the starting price to begin with and it's too expensive. Aftermarket options would have been thrice less than that.

I remember this one time my dad walked out of a dealership just because of some floor mats. Can you believe it? The sales guy practically chased us into the parking lot, waving around a new quote like it was a trophy. It's kind of hilarious how quickly 'non-negotiable' can flip to 'hey, we can work with this!' in the heat of the moment.

Congrats on the new RAV4, @C3POWV944! Dealers can definitely be pushy with those add-ons. $1,100 isn’t terrible, but I’d say you did fine saying no at first. Are you planning to keep all those extras, or just let some sit unused?
