Low average MPG reading

I recently got a 2020 RAV4 LE with about 43,000 miles on it. After filling up the tank, I saw that the "Average MPG" reading on the dash is way lower than expected showing around 18 MPG when I thought it should be closer to 30. Is this something that resets over time, or could it be a sensor issue?

Its prolly just showing the previous owner's driving habits, maybe lots of short trips or heavy acceleration. Try resetting the average mpg and give it some time to update with your own driving. If it still stays low after a few tanks, then it might be worth checking for a sensor issue.
