i sometimes drive my mom's rav4 and its just really bothering me that the lane control/assist doesnt really help. tried to take my hands off the wheel on a straight even looking road and i cant keep my hands off even for 5secs. everything down under the hood should be fine though since i know my mom when it comes to her car shes too safe and paranoid so she keeps having it checked once in awhile.

what exactly is the problem with the lane assist, is it fully setup and not just functioning? and also is it showing the green lines?
since you said everything should be fine under the hood then it has to be coming from internally

Huh. It shouldn't be like that. Since when did this happen and please if you don't mind me asking what's your trim?

Yeah, some lane assist systems aren't as responsive as expected. It could be a calibration issue or just how it's designed. If it's really bothering you, checking with the dealer for an update or adjustment might help.

I read it just works best for narrower lanes and freshly painted lines..

But if you're talking about any malfunctions, I don't think there is.. it's just how the lane assist was designed.. a bit inadequate and understandably frustrating!

Check for menu options to adjust sensitivity if you actually like this feature. Though I know a few who just turned it off.

that sounds uncomfortable, but you know the lane assist will work only on a certain speed range. if you're too slow or too fast, it wouldn't work

Mine also is not as responsive but i think I'm still fine with it. an update might be needed, i agree

guys, it's lane keep asist, not self drive. It's designed to be gentle and give you a slight nudge into your lane, not do everything for you
