are those janky coolant bypass valve covers only from north america?? what's the deal with 2019 RAV4s from japan? i have been rollin in mine since day one and no problems and no annoying "engine maintenance required" light popping up. care to share your experience?

seems like a North America thing. Tons of 2019 RAV4s here had those junk valves fail and trigger the warning light. toyota eventually fixed it, but not before people got the runaround. If yours is Japan built and trouble free, you probably dodged the bad part. Wouldn't be the first time Toyota gave different regions better stuff.

Toyota def cheaped out here, no surprise. Japan built 2019 RAV4s? way better, different part, better quality, no stupid warning lights harassing you every few months. Been rolling in mine too, zero drama. figures they treat the home market better.

Yeah man, seems like it's mostly a North America thing. The Japan-built RAV4s don't get hit with the same coolant valve drama. I've had buddies here swap theirs out already, but if yours has been clean since day one, you're golden. Different suppliers or spec maybe, who knows
