My sister's got a 2023 RAV4 LE and I would like to ask if using a HEPA cabin filter makes the blower sound like it's reconsidering its life choices. Bec that's what is happening to hers. Anyone tested this out?

It happened to my friend's '22 RAV4 as well. HEPA filters are thicker and can restrict airflow more than the regular ones. This can make the blower work a bit harder, which is why it sounds like it's struggling. In the short term, it's not damaging, but if it's bothering her, she might want to consider switching to a standard or lower-resistance filter.

this is actually a common issue. the very first thing to do is double check that the filter is installed correctly.
Ensure it's not bent or crushed and that the airflow arrow on the filter is pointing in the correct direction.
A poorly seated filter can worsen the sound and airflow. The RAV4's cabin filter is typically located behind the glove box, and it's a straightforward install, but it's worth a second look.

Hey @pale_extreme121, yep, HEPA filters can make the blower sound louder since they’re thicker and restrict airflow a bit. Make sure it’s seated right and the arrow points the right way. Sometimes that alone fixes most of the “struggling” noise.
